Fenian’s Pub, located in Jackson’s Belhaven neighborhood, has been serving the area for over 20 years. But lately – with the addition of Chef Ryan Cassell to the kitchen – heartwarming and hearty, authentic Irish and Celtic cuisine is turning heads and winning hearts.
When you think about Ireland, the music, the art or the folklore may come to mind, but a big part of Ireland’s culture lies with its unique and savory cuisine inspired by local ingredients. Fenian’s Irish-inspired dishes like Shepherd’s Pie, Irish Chicken Curry and Sausage and Mash, do just that and offer you a chance to take a trip to Ireland for the afternoon or evening, celebrating Ireland – and our best Mississippi ingredients – with a hearty scrumptious feast.
Fenian’s Pub is a casual full service, sit-down style restaurant. It’s also well established as a welcoming neighborhood pub, so feel free to enjoy yourself.
When you walk into Fenian’s, it really does feel like you have just stepped into another place and time. It’s a place that truly celebrates Irish and Celtic heritage and history.
Fenian’s has perfected their own house-made authentic Irish oatmeal bread. A slice of this loaf with a smear of rich Kerrygold butter adds to the cozy enjoyment of their Shepherd’s Pie, salad or soup.
Start your meal with a Scotch egg, one of the six appetizer options. Made with Irish sausage and a poached local farm egg, it’s served with pickled red onion and Creole honey mustard. With such a unique blend of flavor – it’s a must try.
A crowd favorite, Fenian’s Shepherd’s Pie is nothing short of perfection. Mississippi ground lamb, peas, carrots, leeks, fresh herbs and a mashed potato crust. One bite of this beauty, and you’ll be transported to the Irish countryside.
Everyone who loves an outstanding salad should try this one. Fenian’s Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad is mixed with spicy cashews, dried cranberries, pickled red onion, carrots, arugula and a maple mustard vinaigrette. Divine.
The Fenian’s Burger… one word to best describe it: WOW. Mississippi ground beef, cheddar, Irish rasher (thin Irish breakfast bacon), brown sugar onions and garlic mayo on a locally-baked Gil’s Bread bun. A simple, yet powerful combinations of flavorful components makes this burger hatchet (that’s Irish for “absolutely brilliant”).
We mentioned this earlier, but don’t forget that Fenian’s is the neighborhood pub – where everyone is welcomed. With a great selection of beers on tap and a well-appointed bar, Fenian’s is the sort of place where you’ll want to linger.
