The Chicken Pot Pie, with crispy and flaky crust and creamy chicken filling, is a well-loved classis at Lake Tiak-O’Khata in Louisville, MS.

One of the things on the menu that caught my eye was the Chicken Pot Pie with the simple description: “Grandma Ruby’s Original Recipe!” Naturally, I had to try it.

Grandma Ruby helped create Lake Tiak-O’Khata back in the day, so the pie was sure to be a well-loved classic that had endured on the menu since the beginning. When it arrived on the table, my first thought was that the crust itself looked so delicious and unlike any other pot pie I have had before.
When I took my first bite, you could hear the spoon break through the crispy and flaky crust into the creamy chicken. I did notice that there were no vegetables in the chicken mixture, but it was so rich and flavorful, who really needs vegetables? This dish was definitely a home run, but I do recommend splitting it with someone because the dish itself is huge.
