Ring in the season with holiday happenings at Beau Rivage Biloxi. Plan now for dinner reservations, show tickets, accommodations, shopping and more!
When our family moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in December a few years back, our children were young, and we immediately sought holiday cheer outside our new home filled with moving boxes. A new neighbor suggested we check out the holiday happenings at Beau Rivage – that year a variety show featuring beloved holiday music.
I remember the wide eyes of our children as we stepped from the warm coastal air into a virtual winter wonderland – the infamous Beau Rivage holiday decorations. I don’t think they even argued about taking a family photo in the wonder of the moment!
The next year, the family demanded a repeat of our new “tradition,” so we returned to Beau Rivage only to be wowed again. Each year when we make our holiday visit, we are amazed to discover what’s new in the decorations, entertainment and seasonal menus – that remain just familiar enough year to year to make you feel right at home with your traditions. Holidays at Beau Rivage are quite simply a wonderful excursion that parents and children alike can enjoy together, and where memories – and plenty of photos – will be made.
This year, Beau Rivage, Mississippi’s only MGM Resort located beachfront in Biloxi, will ring in your holiday season with what I think is their most exciting holiday line-up yet. Our family can’t decide which weekend we want to attend – maybe we’ll see you there!!
YOUR GUIDE TO THE HOLIDAYS AT BEAU RIVAGE
1. Pick a (Show) Date.
First things first. This holiday season, Beau Rivage has a wide variety of seasonal shows scheduled – and yes, I know it’s difficult to choose, so do as we do – go to more than one this year!
December 2 and 3 — Beau Rivage has partnered with the Mississippi Gulf Coast Ballet to present its eighth annual performance of the Nutcracker Ballet. E.T.A. Hoffmann’s timeless fairytale will feature stunning sets, vibrant costumes and world-renowned dancers Joseph Gatti and Sarah Lane. The Nutcracker will perform in the Beau Rivage Theatre at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Ticket prices start at $10.95 plus tax and service fees.
December 8 and 9 — Three-time Grammy Award winner Brian Setzer and his 19-piece orchestra will perform as part of the Sirius XM Presents The Brian Setzer Orchestra 14th Annual Christmas Rocks! Tour. Tickets start at $34.95 plus and service fees.
December 15 – 25 — The Beau Rivage Theatre will be transformed into an ice rink for Rand Productions’ critically-acclaimed ice and theatrical production Christmas on Ice. This show has been our family’s go-to holiday entertainment for the past few years. I can attest that your entire family will enjoy world-class skaters perform alongside talented singers, dancers and loveable Christmas characters. Christmas on Ice dazzles audiences with festive sets and costumes as well as Santa sleigh rides for lucky members of the audience and a snowfall at every performance (cue the ooh’s and ahh’s from all ages!). Showtimes are at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. daily. Tickets start at $12.95 plus tax and service fees or 4 tickets for $40. Military discounts are also available.
You’ll also want to keep in mind that The Buffet at Beau Rivage will offer children ages 12 and under a free meal with their show ticket as well as double redemption vouchers at the Arcade for each ticket purchased. Add to that the fact that Christmas on Ice room packages start at $99 and include deluxe accommodations and two tickets to the show, and you’ve got the makings of a truly spectacular holiday excursion.
2. Make Time to Marvel at the Decorations.
Hot tip: do NOT underestimate the magic of Beau Rivage’s holiday decorations. Think thousands of twinkling lights, larger-than-life nutcrackers and ornaments, gingerbread houses and enchanting winter displays alongside more than 2,000 poinsettias and 150 dazzling trees. Plan time to enjoy them – and to take pictures – now thru January 2.
3. Feed your Holiday Spirit.
Enjoy a holiday meal and capture the memories at Beau Rivage with See Santa in The Buffet.
We’ve eaten at every restaurant in Beau Rivage, and they’re all excellent. We also have the privilege of knowing several of the chefs in leadership there and have taken a peek behind the curtain more than once, so we can also attest to the quality of ingredients and thoughtfulness in preparation that goes into every bite of food served on this property. For a group of any age, The Buffet is a great pick for a festive holiday dining experience this year. They’re offering an expanded menu with 14 new seasonal selections. They also have dozens of creative Gingerbread Houses decorating the buffet line that singlehandedly make The Buffet worth your trip. In addition, a special children’s menu will be featured Dec. 10-14 and 17-21 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and include a complimentary photo with Santa with buffet purchase.
If The Buffet isn’t your jam, don’t worry – there are PLENTY of other options including three of our personal favorites: Beau Prime, a fantastically executed farm-to-table steakhouse concept; Stalla, where a classically trained Italian chef is turning heads with her soulful recreations of authentic Italian cuisine; and Coast Seafood & Brew a casual concept that’s serving up the new standard for local seafood.
In addition, several restaurants on property will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with special menus including The Buffet (open all day), Terrace Cafe, Coast Seafood & Brew with regular menu opens at 11 am, and Stalla and JIA with special menus open at 5 pm.
4. Find the Perfect Gift.
Stroll along Beau Rivage’s 20,000-square-foot shopping promenade for the perfect holiday gift. A idyllic shopping experience anytime, it’ll be extra special December 12-16 during Beau Rivage’s Holiday Shopping Spectacular. Indulge in a cup of hot cocoa, sample gourmet treats, browse the
impressive window displays and receive a gift with purchase at select stores. Get unique gift ideas and meet more than a dozen artisans and their representatives during their annual holiday trunk shows. Participating vendors include Lagos, David Yurman, John Hardy, Roberto Coin, Erin London, Pewter Graphics, Moments, Mignon Faget, JoAnn Wheeler and many more.
